What is Simple Acres?

Simple Acres: Let's get back to Basics.

So what is the idea and philosophy behind it? Glad you asked, I'd love to share with you. But...

First of all I'd like to briefly explain what I am NOT about.

I am NOT a person who thinks the only way to please God is to grind wheat berries and make kefir.

I am NOT an anti-government conspiracy theorist.

I am NOT an isolationist, recluse, hermit type.

With that out of the way...

We are running into some serious problems. Not just America - progressive countries around the globe are experiencing these issues.

*Health: We are dropping like flies to cancer and organ failure, we are becoming mentally unstable with autism, anxiety attacks, and depression.

*Finance: Unemployment numbers are increasing. The reason they seem to go down is because those who give up and go on food stamps are no longer counted. Healthcare programs are forcing companies to lay off employees and cut hours. As income stagnates or decreases, taxes, food, fuel, and healthcare costs are become insane.

*Family: We no longer know how to teach our children so they become a blessing and productive members of society. We treat marriage as an arrangement of convenience. Homosexual agendas are disintegrating the holiness of matrimony. Children are told they can be whatever gender they want. Confusion abounds, spills over, creates a slippery mess.

*Spirituality:  The root of the problem. Liberals hate the Word of God and have successfully been shoving it out of the schools, the courts, and even churches. This is because Christians have backed down, lowered their personal standard of holiness, lost their peculiarity and thus their testimony. Then they have watered down the Word of truth in an effort to draw the masses.

Unfortunately, there is no magic pill. We are called, however, to be a remnant.

"Be ye holy, as I AM holy" 1 Peter 1:15, 16
So do we put on feed sacks, look sad, and stay away from the evil world?

God forbid!

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

That is our calling: minister and give our life.

Stop trying to impress people into coming.

Start showing them the love of Christ.

Start making a difference in their lives.

So what is the Simple Acres concept in light of this?

We cannot give hope unless we have it ourselves. We cannot minister to the needs of others if we ourselves are destitute. We cannot claim that our God supplies all our need if we rely on handouts and gov't aid.

So we want to go back to using the resources that God has given everybody to prosper ourselves, our families, and ultimately others to the Glory of God.

In future posts I will outline how I believe this to be possible... and biblical.

Because He lives,

So true. We must bring God back to this nation and world.

Yes, Elliott, we must let our faith in God permeate every aspect of our lives. The first key ingredient is humility. I look forward to your next post on this topic. We sure can't fix America. But we can serve God best by making what He has given us spread to many others, and we need to be sure to give it in the name of Jesus.
