Baler

Verse of the Day: Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. John 4:35

My responsibility this wheat season has been caring for the 3x4 baler.

Keeping twine full...
re-threading...

greasing
replacing parts, tightening and adjusting the knotters

control box, wires, and tank assembly all part of the preservative application system I installed last week
We'll use it when we do hay next month.

raking straw

After the season it's really dusty and dirty...
...until you attack it with a leaf blower followed by an air gun.

NooooIIIIICE. (nice) [I was trying to quote Reese. You can imagine how he sounded. :-)] meaning the CASE IH symbol.

Thanks for showing so much detail of a life we don't get to see for real.

Blowing out the combine is one of the least favorite jobs around here. :)
